📌 Job Overview

Namib Mills (Pty) Ltd invites suitably qualified and motivated Namibian citizens to apply for the position of Learner: Miller Operations – Mills.

This position offers a valuable opportunity to receive on-the-job and external training while completing relevant examinations, with the goal of becoming a qualified Miller in the milling and food industry. The contract runs for 12 months, with the possibility of permanent employment based on performance.


🛠 Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Learn and master milling operations to ensure efficient production

  • Gain practical experience in maize and wheat milling, including screening and conditioning

  • Understand and apply quality and process control for maize meal and wheat flour

  • Learn wheat spectrum analysis and its role in milling operations

  • Assist with raw material intake, documentation, and stock control

  • Support the Shift Miller with personnel and operational duties

  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and pest control

  • Compile accurate shift and operational reports


🎓 Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) with Mathematics and English
    (C symbol at Ordinary Level will be an advantage)
    PLUS at least two (2) years relevant technical work experience

OR

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) with Mathematics and English
    (C symbol at Ordinary Level will be an advantage)
    PLUS a relevant Certificate (NQF Level 5)


➕ Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to complete compulsory training programmes

  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)

  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime

  • Willingness to study and complete prescribed modules

  • Must be a Namibian citizen
