SAFARI CONSULTANT ASSISTANT

We are looking for a SAFARI CONSULTANT ASSISTANT to join our team in Swakopmund.

This position will be responsible for creating and maintaining client itineraries. Lodge and rental vehicle reservations with all relevant service providers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Responsible for the overall management of the reservations department and its employees.

Revenue management - consult with the Sales and Marketing team to ensure revenue maximising.

Supplier Booking Management – ensure all provisional bookings are confirmed or released within the specified time frame.

Responsible for setting up other inventory in the itinerary management software.

Assist with setting up rates for all properties and other inventory.

Assist with day-to-day reservation-related tasks when required.

Maintain good relationships with travel agents, service providers & clients.


Requirements:

Must be a Namibian citizen or permanent resident.

At least 3 years of proven experience in the travel and tourism industry.

Hospitality experience would be of advantage.

Experience within the safari booking and planning industry

Excellent administration skills and record keeping

Excellent spoken and written English.

Attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, good communication skills and outstanding time management abilities.

Strong ethics and reliability.


Packages:

Basic salary + commission structure

Performance-based annual bonus

The Griller position requires a minimum of two years experience as a griller. Candiates who pass the product knowledge assessment (Pass Mark is 80%), shall have the opportunity to a 2 week on-the-job training/ assessment.

  • Product knowledge and experience in grilling game, beef and chicken is a requirement.
  • The Griller will need to be able to work under pressure and co-ordinate the completion of table orders accurately and on-time.
  • Ensure all opening and closing duties are performed for their desiganted griller station.
  • Perform effectively as part of a team and maintain company service expectations.
  • Candidates will be required to work under pressure in a fast paced yet efficient kitchen environment.
