Opportunity | Duty Description
- Provides oversight and strategic leadership to the Branch and ensure efficient execution of its mandate.
- Ensure that, always, the Branch has sufficient currency to meet the market demand in the northern region.
- Ensure that the Branch provides excellent banking services to its customers, both internal and external. The incumbent will promote and maintain the highest professional standard, integrity, and professionalism in the provision of such services.
- Effectively manage the Branch’s protection services function in such a manner that the Branch’s resources, human and other properties, are not exposed to undue risks.
- Ensure that the Branch’s physical assets and facilities are kept in good working condition to eliminate any disruption in services.
- Ensure proper implementation of the Branch’s budget and keep accurate financial information to assess the financial and currency operations of the Branch.
- Coordinates regular risk assessment and identify areas requiring improvement in the Branch.
- Manage staff performance and ensure that the Branch is adequately staffed in line with the Bank’s relevant policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education
- Honours degree in Banking, Business Management or Accounting & Finance.
- A Master’s degree in Business Administration will be an added advantage.
Work Experience:
- At least 10 years central and/or commercial banking experience, preferably in operations, retail or corporate banking environment, of which 5 years should have been at management level.
- A strategic and innovative thinker with a high level of integrity, good research, analytical, facilitation, presentation, technological, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
Abilities/Skills:
- Extensive experience in managing the day-to-day operations and deliverables in a complex environment.
- Financial acumen, knowledge of financial processes and the ability to develop budgets and analyse financial reports.
- Strong people management skills/experience, including managing for results, mentoring, and coaching and creating an environment that encourages agile teamwork across competencies.
- Ability to develop and execute operational policies for the Bank.
- Excellent planning, management and coordination skills, with the ability to organise substantial workload comprising of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate successful outcomes in challenging situations.
- Good understanding of risk management and the ability to respond in a dynamic environment.
- A can-do attitude, proactive and solutions focussed, sound problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
